Adventures in eMarketing

Hello,
Welcome to the October edition of Siren Interactive’s newsletter, Adventures in eMarketing.

As you know, advances in technology have triggered many changes in the marketing world. The digital shift by physicians and patients is changing the way pharma marketers engage with their customers. As e-marketing becomes a more central part of companies’ overall strategy, marketers are exploring new media and technology to build and enhance relationships among brands, patients, and physicians. Indeed, this highly-regulated industry is slowly but surely adapting new media platforms such as social media, online video, interactive detailing, and mobile applications to more effectively reach patients and physicians.

Check out the top SirenSong blog entries, recent events, research insight, and my reading list for relevant information and latest trends in the healthcare industry and e-marketing.

Research Insight

Manhattan Research recently released a white paper, “How Digital is Shaping the Future of Pharmaceutical Marketing” that examines the latest consumer and physician e-health trends and explores digital marketing examples. The report demonstrates that online health and pharma digital trends are leading to better informed, more empowered patients, and are affecting physician-patient interactions. In fact, consumers who visit product sites are nearly 3 times more likely to request prescriptions by name from their doctors. Additionally, virtually all US physicians report that at least some of their patients bring health information found online to an appointment.
