According to the 12th annual national survey, Consumer Reaction to DTC Advertising of Prescription Drugs:

  • Nearly 50% of consumers report that health videos are a top resource when searching online for medical and prescription drug information.
  • User-generated content websites such as Wikipedia, message boards, and blogs are also important resources.
  • 55% of respondents searched these sites for health-related information.

This study suggests that consumers value personal health experiences along with trustworthy medical websites when searching for health information.
